CHESTER MEET 2019

FRIDAY 14TH JUNE 2019

A lovely relaxed evening was enjoyed by Old Davideans at Chester Brewhouse and Kitchen. We'll be keeping the Chester meet on our calander in the future. Always in the summer term. Keep an eye out for next year's dates.

MEET AT THE MITRE

The best one yet - ODA’s ranging from the youngest, the be-jewelled nosed Molly Jenkins with her friend Cara Lyons, to the eldest Martin Myatt, who entered St David’s in its second term of existence, Spring 1966. There were announcements of engagements, weddings, children and promotions. In addition to OD’s and partners, there were top end staff, a governor, a marketeer, an archiver, and old staff in attendance.  There were reminisces, some repeatable, some not. Old friendships were re ignited and new ones were formed. There was much communication between the young and the old.

London Meeting at the Mitre, Lancaster Gate, March 3rd, 2017

The Lancaster Gate tube station would be closed, wouldn’t it? Of course we didn’t know that until we went to confirm the buffet menu the day before. Nevertheless, there was a good turn out. This time our venue was downstairs in ‘The Scullery’; there was the aforementioned buffet, followed by varied drinks, alcoholic and otherwise. The guest of honour was Judith Gauge, still nobly reading and writing for exams, having spent many years in both the English and Cadogan departments at St David’s.

WEDDING OF OLD DAVIDEANS ALICE HAYDON AND JOHNNY SELDON

Some of the retired and current SDC staff had the privledge of witnessing the wedding of Alice Haydon (Old Davidean, former Head Girl, joint Chair of the ODA and SDC Governor) to Johnny Seldon (Old Davidean, former Head Boy and ODA Committe Member). Both Alice and Johnny have given so much to the school both as pupils and Old Davideans. It was a wonderful day with Old Davideans Oli Seldon (Johnny's twin brother) and Owain Davies as best men and Old Davideans Caroline Baylis and Beki Grey (otherwise known as the Bayliss twins) as Alice's bridesmaids.

London March 2014

Friday March 7th, 6.30 pm, Manicomio Restaurant and Wine Bar, Duke of York Square, Chelsea - time for the annual London ODA shindig.

Intriguingly, Manicomio started as a high quality olive oil importing business, then it became an importer of a range of Italian food, and finally it became the prestigious business that it is today, which just goes to show ....

November 2013

Another November, another Old Davideans’ weekend: there were the old Old Davideans (Robert Charles 1970’s) young Old Davideans (Alex Ward 2000’s), some somewhere in between, male and female, fat and thin, dapper (Will Spencer, thanks to TK Maxx) and scruffy (from Rhyl).
