CRICKET AND LADIES' LUNCH
Both the Ladies' Lunch in the Minstrel Hall and the Old Davideans and Parents versus Pupils and Staff Cricket Match were a great success! Old Davideans and Parents won by 5 wickets! Pupils and Staff are up for next year's challenge!! There was also a raffle after the lunch to raise money for the ongoing Sports Pavilion fundraising campaign.
GOLD DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARDS AT THE PALACE
Congratulations to Jack, Matthew and Sarah, who spent last Tuesday with HRH Prince Edward at St James' Palace in London, getting presented with their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award! Here they are proudly wearing their ODA ties.

WEDDING OF OLD DAVIDEANS ALICE HAYDON AND JOHNNY SELDON
Some of the retired and current SDC staff had the privledge of witnessing the wedding of Alice Haydon (Old Davidean, former Head Girl, joint Chair of the ODA and SDC Governor) to Johnny Seldon (Old Davidean, former Head Boy and ODA Committe Member). Both Alice and Johnny have given so much to the school both as pupils and Old Davideans. It was a wonderful day with Old Davideans Oli Seldon (Johnny's twin brother) and Owain Davies as best men and Old Davideans Caroline Baylis and Beki Grey (otherwise known as the Bayliss twins) as Alice's bridesmaids.
JAMES DUNCAN WEBB
Suddenly passed away on 18th January 2015 aged 21 years.
Much loved son of Marie and Duncan, stepson of Colin, brother to Harriet and John.
A kind and genuine young man, James will be truly missed by family and friends.
Funeral Thursday 5th February with service in
St Gregory’s Church Bollington at 1.00pm
followed by interment at St Gregory’s Churchyard.
Calvin Pinchin
It is with great sadness that we report today that Calvin Pinchin, Head of Philosophy at SDC for the last 27 years, has sadly passed away. He was found at his home yesterday and seems to have died peacefully in his bed.Calvin was an excellent teacher, one of the SDC legends. He was well liked an an incredibly well respected man in the St David's College community. He had a significant influence on many students during his time here and will be sorely missed.There will be a memorial service held at St. David's in the near future. Date to be confirmed.
